Sections of Explorations in College Algebra (Mat 101E) will focus on data collection and use of the TI-82, TI-83, or TI-84 calculator. These sections are a subset of College Algebra sections. Either Mat 101 or Mat 101E will satisfy the mathematics core requirement. Instructors in Mat 101E will use student-centered teaching strategies including group projects and oral presentations. This course was developed to meet the needs of students who plan to major in elementary education, psychology, social sciences, biological sciences, liberal arts, or fine arts. The text, Explorations in College Algebra, by Linda A. Kime, Judy Clark, and Beverly K. Michael, will be used for MAT 101E only.
