1. FORREST GENERAL HOSPITAL

Forrest General Hospital first opened its doors on July 15, 1952 as a 90 bed rural healthcare center. Today, FGH has grown to a 537-bed acute care facility to better meet the needs of a 16-county area of South Mississippi. In addition to the main campus located in Hattiesburg, Miss, FGH operates five free standing treatment centers, such as a child adolescent and adult psychiatric and chemical dependency, outpatient surgery, home health services and a center for eating disorders.

Forrest General maintains four Centers of Excellence in Cancer, Cardiovascular, Women and Children and Behavioral Health. FGH also provides services in general and medical, hospice, home health, sleep disorders, medical and surgical intensive care, neonatal intensive care, renal lithotripsy, substance abuse treatment and the maintenance of a skilled health care team. Also, the Emergency Services Department at FGH has been designated as a Level-II trauma center by the Mississippi Hospital Association, one of only three in the state with this distinction.

Forrest General also prides itself in community involvement in which we serve. This is evident by participation with various non-profit organizations such as United Way, Health Expo, The American Hearth Association, The American Diabetes Association and Camp Blue Bird.

The Clinical Laboratory at FGH is a full-service, fully accredited facility providing diagnostic services 24 hours a day, 365 days a years. Laboratory Services include Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Clinical Microbiology/Parasitology/Mycology, Serology and Immunodiagnostics.

2. MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AT GULFPORT

Memorial Hospital at Gulfport was established on July 18, 1946 by the Harrison County Board of Supervisors. Memorial, a not-for-profit organization, is one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in Mississippi. Memorial is constantly growing and expanding to better meet the health care needs of our community. A modern facility with more than 400 beds, the hospital offers the most advanced technology and services available on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Our health care professionals remain on the forefront of modern healing with a medical staff comprised of more than 300 physicians representing more than 40 medical specialties. A hospital with a well-established reputation, Memorial remains dedicated to excellence in advanced health care. Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Voluntary Hospitals of America, Inc. (VHA).

3. SINGING RIVER HOSPITAL

The Singing River Hospital Clinical Laboratory is a full service, computerized laboratory which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The laboratory maintains a full-service outreach program providing phlebotomy staffing and one-on-one attention to the physician offices it serves. The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The laboratory performs waivered, moderate, and high complexity level testing and is certified accordingly under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA '88).

 

4. WESLEY MEDICAL CENTER

The Laboratory Services Department at Wesley is a full service CAP accredited laboratory providing diagnostic testing in the areas of CLinical Chemistry/Toxicology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology/Mycobacteriology/Mycology, Parasitology, Serology/Immunology and Blood Bank. The laboratory is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days per years.
