Kim Woolly is Assistant Professor of Bassoon at The University of Southern Mississippi. She holds an undergraduate degree in music from Wellesley College, a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, and a Doctor of Music in Bassoon Performance from the Florida State University.

Dr. Woolly is Principal Bassoon with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Mobile and Meridian Symphonies, and spends summers in Maine as a faculty member of the New England Music Camp. She is formerly a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and has performed frequently with the Jacksonville Symphony and the Orlando Philharmonic, among others. She performed with the orchestras of the Victoria Bach Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival and the Heidelberg, Germany, Schlossfestspiele, and has also participated in the festivals of Sarasota, Swannanoa, Chatauqua, and Bowdoin.

A native of Little Rock, AR, Dr. Woolly has held previous faculty positions at Ohio University, the University of Florida and Morehead State University. Her teachers include Jeff Keesecker, John Hunt, and Isabelle Plaster.
