Performance Opportunities
Southern Miss flute students enjoy several performance opportunities:
Large ensembles
(admitted by auditions at the beginning of each semester)
Symphony Orchestra (4-5 flutists)
Wind Ensemble (5 flutists)
Symphonic Winds (5 flutists)
Concert Band (8 flutists)
The Pride Marching Band (up to 20 flutists)
Besides the large ensembles, flute students can join a variety of chamber ensembles with other instruments and/or join the Southern Miss Flute Choir.
