Dr. Linden brings academic rigor and an interdisciplinary approach to his main commitment, teaching. His teaching philosophy is based on a strong dedication to the clear communication of original ideas through written and verbal presentation. Dr. Linden has presented his work at Columbia University, the University of California Berkeley and Duke University. Recent publications include an interpretation of the 13th-century “Song of The Albigensian Crusade” (French Forum, v. 32, 2007) as well as regular contributions to less scholarly publications such as The Tone Quest Report and Blues & Co., a French publication.
In addition to his dedication to teaching about the entertainment industry, Dr. Linden is also actively involved as a performer, promoter, songwriter and record producer. As a traditional Blues musician, Dr. Linden has performed live in cities from New York, Los Angeles and Nashville, to Paris, London and Geneva. Dr. Linden also acts as an agent and promoter for American Blues groups touring Western Europe. Recent record productions include two albums for the Music Maker Foundation as well as two albums for Landslide records. He is currently working on setting up an analog based recording environment for low-volume, ambient-style recording.
