Welcome to the home of the University of Southern Mississippi Chapter of the NAACP! The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is an organization whose mission is to establish and maintain racial equality. The USM chapter's purpose is to carry out this mission as well as to educate minority groups about issues that are of importance.
The USM Chapter of the NAACP is an organization that works to improve the political, social, and economic status of under represented groups while keeping students and the public aware of the adverse effects of racial discrimination. In order to become a member of the NAACP all you need is the desire to be active and involved. Membership for the college chapter is $15 for those under the age of 21 and $30 for those age 21 and older. If you are committed to make a change, then, "don't talk about it...be about it!" Join the NAACP! All general meetings are scheduled at 7:00 pm Wednesday nights in the Union. For detailed schedule of meeting dates and locations e-mail us at naacp@usm.edu.
