University of Southern Mississippi Vice President Emeritus for Student Affairs Joe Paul will return to Southern Miss to assist in raising funds and strengthen support of the University, effective Monday, Oct. 5.
Paul will collaborate with The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation and the Southern Miss Athletic Foundation to focus on cultivating existing relationships and developing new partnerships that will help expand the University’s reach.
The University of Southern Mississippi Merchandising Program will host the Cotton Coterie and Up-Cycling Design Competition on Friday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Scianna Hall on the Hattiesburg campus. More than 120 merchandising students across state of Mississippi will participate in the event.
At the opening night concert of the Symphony Orchestra’s 96th season, Dr. Mike Lopinto, PR/Marketing Coordinator for the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Music, was presented with The Themis Award. This award is presented annually at the opening orchestra concert to an outstanding Southern Miss administrator, professor, staff member, or other individual who has contributed to the success of the orchestra and its members.

The joy in Auerswald’s spirit when people see or speak to her is contagious, touching people wherever she goes. Auerswald is now in her second semester in The University of Southern Mississippi nursing program, working to complete the rigorous nurse anesthetist program. She hopes to graduate in December.
