New School Zone Speed Limit in Effect on West Fourth Street

A new 15-mile per hour school zone speed limit is being strictly enforced from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the section of West Fourth Street that runs through The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus.

Southern Miss, Panama Sign Agreement to Enhance Opportunities

The University of Southern Mississippi and the Technological University of Panama Wednesday (Aug. 11) signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions, opening the doors for enhanced collaboration on new academic and economic development opportunities.

“This trip is all about building relationships with one of the most dynamic countries in the Western Hemisphere,” stated Dr. Martha Saunders, president of The University of Southern Mississippi. “Partnerships developed here can mean a lot to Mississippi.”

Sertoma Club of Hattiesburg Makes $18,000 Donation to DuBard School

The Sertoma Club of Hattiesburg made its largest philanthropic contribution to date by presenting the DuBard School for Language Disorders with a check for $18,000 on Thursday, Aug. 12.

Pride of Mississippi Marching Band to Present Preview Concert Aug. 20

Football season is right around the corner at The University of Southern Mississippi and The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band is ready to bring game day spirit to Golden Eagles fans.

A Preview Concert will be presented on the Hattiesburg campus at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 to give audiences a sneak peek at this season’s line-up. The free concert, to be held on the green space at the center of campus next to Cook Library, will include traditional Southern Miss favorites such as Southern Miss to the Top, Are You From Dixie and Pride Fanfare.
