Nearly half of all respondents claim they are leery of buying Gulf of Mexico shrimp, according to very preliminary results in a study conducted by researchers at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The past month has produced impressive accolades for University of Southern Mississippi accounting professor Michael Dugan.

Dugan, who joined the Southern Miss faculty in June, received the 2010 “Best Paper” Award for his co-authored article that appeared in the December 2009 issue of the American Accounting Association (AAA) journal Accounting Horizons. On top of that, Dugan recently learned that he is ranked among the top five percent of the most prolific accounting researchers over the past 50 years.
