The Center for Community and Civic Engagement’s Campus Link AmeriCorps, located at The University of Southern Mississippi, is teaming up with the Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center for a community garden project sponsored by Venue Church. The project kicks off Saturday, March 31 at 8 a.m. at the McCarty Center, located at 607 McSwain St. in Hattiesburg.

University of Southern Mississippi School of Music students Craig Watson, Ismael Brandao and Jesus Castro will be featured in the symphony season performance, “Future Stars,” set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 at Bennett Auditorium.

Tulio Sulbaran, MD Sarder, and Chad Miller of the Center for Logistics, Trade, and Transportation (CLTT) at The University of Southern Mississippi recently visited Panama to continue strengthening relationships with the Universidad Marítima Internacional de Panamá (UMIP) and representatives of the logistics and transportation industry in Panama.

The College of Health at The University of Southern Mississippi, along with the Hattiesburg Clinic and the Southern and Southwest Mississippi Area Health Education Centers, present the forum, “Poverty and Its Impact on Health: Causation or Correlation,” Thursday, April 12, from 6 – 7:45 p.m. in the Fleming Education Center at the university’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
