Internationally acclaimed artist Christo will visit the University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus Sept. 5 to present the lecture, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Two Works in Progress: Over the River, Project for the Arkansas River, Colorado, andThe Mastaba, Project for the United Arab Emirates. This event begins at 7 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

Renowned experts and those currently working in top positions in the field of safety and security will share their knowledge and experience July 31 - Aug 1 at the third annual National Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition at New Orleans’ famed Roosevelt Hotel.

A reunion of participants in The University of Southern Mississippi’s former Summer Program in Graduate Education (SPGE) on the Hattiesburg campus last weekend reunited old friends, fellow students and colleagues.

The University of Southern Mississippi will host a free screening of a new documentary film called “Green Fire,” which features the life and work of legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold on Sunday, July 29.
