The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band is one of the area’s most visible ambassadors. Its acclaim has led scores to audition to become part of the group and now, the members are busting at the seams – literally.


To outfit the capacity band this year has presented a challenge to say the least. A new look is planned to replace the decade-old uniforms.


The College of Health at The University of Southern Mississippi is sponsoring the Hospice Foundation of America’s “Artificial Nutrition and Hydration Program” on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 9-11 a.m. in Room 101 of the Trent Lott Center.


Approximately 50 University of Southern Mississippi business students will spend Halloween being treated to a unique look at career opportunities in the casino resort industry and Tunica as a potential job market.


Students at the University of Southern Mississippi recently elected representatives for the 2012 Southern Miss Homecoming Court and Mr. and Miss Southern Miss. The queen and court, aloing with Mr. and Miss Southern Miss, will be introduced at halftime of the Southern Miss football game against Marshall University Saturday, Oct. 20 at M.M. Roberts Stadium.



University of Southern Mississippi students, faculty, staff, alumni and other supporters will be kicking off homecoming week with an assortment of activities and events to show their Golden Eagle pride with this year’s homecoming theme "Let the Good Times Soar!"


The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies (IDS) will hold a fair housing workshop at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Lafayette County-Oxford Public Library at 401 Bramlett Blvd. in Oxford.


The Children’s Center for Communication and Development, in conjunction with the Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach, will host a one-day conference “Exceptional Learners, Exceptional Instruction” on Nov. 9 at the Thad Cochran Center on The University of Southern Mississippi campus.


The University of Southern Mississippi’s Space Planning Committee is examining plans for the use of several large spaces on the Hattiesburg campus as they become available in the near future, and seeks input for the planning process.
