The School of Social Work at The University of Southern Mississippi hosted its annual Social Work Colloquium on Friday, Nov. 16 in the Thad Cochran Center on the Hattiesburg campus. This year’s event titled, “New Directions in Trauma Treatment: Implications for Social Work Policy and Practice,” featured a number of regionally and nationally-known speakers.

Sounds of the season will reverberate throughout the sanctuary at Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg as The University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra presents its Holiday Choral Spectacular at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.

 

In addition to the Symphony Orchestra, the special evening of music will also feature the combined voices of Southern Miss choirs and local choral groups from Forrest County Agricultural, Sumrall, Stone County, Presbyterian Christian and Pascagoula High Schools.

The 19th annual Santa’s Bargain Basement Mega Garage Sale will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8-11 a.m. at the Payne Center on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus. The sale, supported by the Association of Office Professionals (AOP), Southern Miss Recreational Sports and Delta Tau Delta, benefits the university’s 2012 United Way Campaign and United Way of Southeast Mississippi.
