Representatives from six different European countries spent three days touring the Mississippi Polymer Institute and related facilities at The University of Southern Mississippi earlier this month as part of a clean technology project.

Registration is now open for fall enrollment at the Early Connections Learning Center. Spaces are available for children ages 1 to 4.

 

Early Connections Learning Center is operated by the Lamar County School District in partnership with The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies, Mississippi’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service.

Goldsmith of Easton, Pa., a third-year doctoral student in the School of Human Performance and Recreation at The University of Southern Mississippi, received the Graduate Student Research Award for his paper and presentation titled “Whistleblowing Intention in Sport: The Role of Motives and Cost-Benefit Analysis” at the Ninth Annual Southern Sport Management Conference in Troy, Ala.

A University of Southern Mississippi Honors College student is the recipient of a prestigious National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship.

Kendall Moore, Jr., a sophomore computer science major from Madison, Miss. and a Presidential Scholar at Southern Miss, earned the award that includes funding for two academic years of full-time study and a 10-week, full-time summer internship at a NOAA facility. It is named for retired U.S. Sen. Ernest F. Hollings of South Carolina.
