Jonnie Cleveland, a University of Southern Mississippi doctoral student and Dr. Marge Crowe, an assistant professor in the university’s Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education, recently had an article, titled “Cognitive Interventions for Students with Attention Deficit Disorder Transitioning from Secondary School Settings: A Meta-Analytic Review” published in the peer-reviewed journal Delta Kappa Gamma Bulletin: International Journal for Professional Educators.

University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast students cross the bridge at Bear Creek on the first day of fall semester classes at the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. The completion of five major building projects allowed all classes to return to the Gulf Park campus since it was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.

A new semester began Wednesday, August 21 at The University of Southern Mississippi, as freshmen became acquainted with their new home and returning students took the next step toward graduation.

 

Faculty, staff and students were positioned across the Hattiesburg campus to answer new students’ questions concerning directions and where their classes are located, while also providing information about student resources and the various campus organizations that match their interests.

The University of Southern Mississippi’s College Panhellenic Council (CPC) is the recipient of the National Panhellenic Conference’s (NPC) Excellence Award for 2012-2013. Southern Miss is one of only 14 College Panhellenics in the country to earn the honor.
