Choral Spectacular features sounds of the season
: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg
EVENT: University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra presents annual Holiday Choral Spectacular. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Children’s Center for Communication and Development at Southern Miss. For information call 601.266.5222.


Annual tree lighting ceremony scheduled
5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Front lawn of Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building
EVENT: The Southern Miss Student Government Association kicks off the holiday season with a ceremony that includes activities for visitors. For information call 601.291.9760.


Noted entrepreneur to hold book signing
: 1-3 p.m.
WHERE: College of Business Honors House
EVENT: Renowned business executive Kathryn B. Freeland will sign copies of her book, “Navigating Your Way to Business Success, an Entrepreneur’s Journey.” For information call 601.266.4659.

PRISM concert set for Convention Center
: 7 p.m.
WHERE: Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg
EVENT: The Southern Miss School of Music and Parris Jewelers present the second annual event that serves as a primary fundraiser for The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band and the Dixie Darlings to support their trip to the 2010 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Lady Eagles host Alcorn State in basketball

WHERE: Reed Green Coliseum

Business students participate in Golden Eagle Challenge
: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
WHERE: Thad Cochran Center Ballroom III
EVENT: Teams of graduate and undergraduate students create business opportunities, write business plans and present them to a panel of judges representing different areas of business. For information call 601.266.4659


Roots Reunion features five performers
: 7-9 p.m.
WHERE: Saenger Theatre in downtown Hattiesburg.
EVENT: Musicians will showcase their talents in a live radio show at the Saenger. This year’s event will feature Celtic music, Jackson Irish Dancers as well as blues, bluegrass and old-time string band performers. For information call 601.266.6823.

National History Day workshop planned
: 9 a.m.
WHERE: African American Military History Museum in Hattiesburg
EVENT: University of Southern Mississippi history professors will host the workshop to help middle and high school social studies teachers incorporate National History Day in their curriculums. For information call 601.266.6823.
