TUESDAY, SEPT. 22
Golden Eagles Hotline with head football coach Larry Fedora
WHEN
: 7-8 p.m.
WHERE: Alumni House Sports Grill in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora will talk about his team’s 37-34 victory over Virginia last weekend and Saturday’s upcoming road game against the University of Kansas. He will answer questions from fans at the Alumni House as well as those who call in to the radio broadcast on WXRR-FM (104.5).

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 23
Southern Miss hosts Public Health Symposium
WHEN
: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
WHERE: Thad Cochran Center Ballroom III
EVENT: Southern Mississippi Area Health Education Center sponsoring a free seminar titled: “Mississippi’s Public Health: Challenges, Growth and Progress.” Everyone engaged in or planning to be part of the health-care work force in Mississippi should attend. For information call 601-266-4839.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 24
Symphony Orchestra opens new season
WHEN
: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Bennett Auditorium
EVENT: Opening night performance. Joshua Roman, classical rock star and nationally renowned cellist, will perform after intermission. Reserved seating: $12 general public; $10 faculty, staff, seniors, military; $6 students. For information call 601-266-4001.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 25
Southern Miss hosts Campus-Community Partnerships for Health seminar
WHEN
: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
WHERE: That Cochran Center, Room 218
EVENT: Regional seminar sponsored by the Southern Miss Department of Nutrition and Food Systems and the Southern Mississippi Area Health Education Center. No registration fee. Community members, health professionals, plus university staff and faculty will discuss methods in helping Mississippians become healthier. For information call 601-266-4839.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 26
Dedication of Center for American Indian Research and Studies
WHEN:
1 p.m.
WHERE: Behind International Building on Hattiesburg campus
EVENT: Gathering, official dedication of center by Southern Miss officials and Band of Choctaw Indians tribal dignitaries. Sampling of native foods, stickball demonstration and campus tour. For information call 601-266-4177.

Heart Walk fund-raiser begins at Pride Field
WHEN
: 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: Pride Field adjacent to Payne Center
EVENT: Fund-raising event for the American Heart Association. Walk covers 3.5 miles through the Southern Miss campus.
