HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at the University of Southern Mississippi will be featured on “Live Response,” a free satellite TV/Web cast program produced by the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla., Wednesday, Aug. 26.

The program, titled “National Infrastructure Protection Plan – Sports Even Risk Management,” will air from 1-2 p.m. (CDT). “Live Response” is a product of the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Integration Center – Training and Exercise Integration.

“Live Response” cameras were on hand to film the NCS4’s Sports Event Risk Management Workshop held July 21-22 at LP Field in Nashville, home of the Tennessee Titans. Established in 2006, the NCS4 is the national leader in addressing potential threats and risks to safety and security at sporting events. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has identified sports stadiums and arenas as potential targets of terrorism. Through research, education and innovative solutions, the NCS4 strives to enhance the level of preparedness at sporting venues nationwide.
