A variety of construction and landscaping efforts are progressing toward completion at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, including a residence hall complex; parking garage; and a green space at the center of campus.

A new state-of-the-art, gated student residence complex at Southern Miss, known as Century Park, will be an 864-bed living-learning facility upon completion. With four four-story buildings, it is the largest development project in the university’s history and is scheduled to open in the fall. (University Communications photo by Steve Rouse)

Grass sod is placed on the site of the former University Commons, which was demolished last fall. Located in the center of campus, the site will become a beautifully landscaped green space upon completion. (University Communications photo by Steve Rouse)

Foundation work on a new parking garage at Southern Miss is underway on the former north side parking lot of Bond Hall. Scheduled for completion in 12-14 months, the facility will include 1,200 parking spaces for students, faculty and staff. (University Communications photo by Steve Rouse)
