Christmas is right around the corner and The University of Southern Mississippi has the perfect gift for music lovers.

On Jan. 29, internationally renowned soprano Renée Fleming will grace the stage of Thalia Mara Hall at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Jackson. A special, luxury charter bus will shuttle concertgoers to Jackson for $25 per person. Sponsored by Partners for the Arts, the charter bus will depart at 3 p.m. from the parking lot of University Mall next to Starbucks on Hardy St. and return to Hattiesburg at approximately 11:30 p.m.

“Tickets to Renée Fleming combined with this exclusive charter bus trip make a perfect gift this holiday season,” said Dr. Mike Lopinto, executive director of Partners for the Arts. The charter bus will stop for dinner at Nick’s, a Jackson restaurant, before heading to the concert. “Wonderful seats still remain to the concert, but the bus has only 20 spots left."

Fleming is hailed as the ‘Voice of the Century” and “The People’s Diva” by those who have experienced her captivating talent. She will be accompanied by the Southern Miss Symphony Orchestra in celebration of the university’s centennial and Mississippi Opera’s 65th anniversary.

Tickets for this performance range from $39 to $129. To order concert tickets, call 1-877-MS-OPERA or visit For more information on the luxury charter bus, call 601.266.5418 or visit
