Michael Lloyd, left, a University of Southern Mississippi senior from Meridian and incoming president of the Southern Miss chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), presents Elaine Hartfield of the Mississippi Children’s Home Services with a check for $1,000. Each year the Southern Miss chapter of NHPC chooses an organization to benefit in conjunction with NPCH Week, which includes activities celebrating the history and tradition of the organization.
The NPCH includes representation from nine historically African American fraternities and sororities. Mississippi Children’s Home Services, based in Jackson, provides behavioral health and social services for children and families. (Southern Miss photo by David Tisdale)
