Third Candidate for VP for Research Post to Visit Hattiesburg, Long Beach Campuses PDF Print E-mail

The third and final candidate scheduled to interview for the post of vice president for research at The University of Southern Mississippi will visit its campuses March 1-2.

Dr. Tim Phillips, a senior faculty fellow in the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, will meet with faculty, staff and students in open sessions at the university’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach Monday, March 1 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Advanced Education Center, room 104; and Tuesday, March 2, 4-5 p.m. on the Hattiesburg campus in the Polymer Science Auditorium.

Phillips has served in a variety of roles at Texas A&M since 1979, including as director of its Center for Food Safety; chairman and professor with the university’s Department of Toxicology; and as an assistant professor of food science and technology, among others. He was a research associate at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1977-1979, and is a Fellow with the Academy of Toxicological Sciences.
