Bonner Earns Medical Technology Degree at Southern Miss

Shawanda Lynette Bonner, a University of Southern Mississippi senior from Poplarville, Miss. graduated with a master of science degree in medical technology Dec. 11 during commencement exercises on the universityís Hattiesburg campus. She was also honored that day at the departmentís 74th annual certificate ceremony.

Bonner is the daughter of Darrel Fairley and Angela Bonner Poplarville. She earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Southern Miss in 2003.

The Department of Medical Technology is part of the College of Health. Graduates of the medical technology program may choose to pursue a variety of careers within their field that include infection control coordinators, lab information computer analysts, administrative technologists, researchers and more.
