The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi is prominently featured in an article currently posted on

Under the heading, “Officials ramp up stadium security,” contributing writer Paula Lavigne highlights the heightened security measures in place for Sunday’s Super XLIV between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints in Miami.

Lavigne spent about an hour via telephone interviewing NCS4 Director Dr. Lou Marciani for the article, which lauds the center’s efforts in producing “some of the most cutting edge research in sports stadium security.”

Established in 2006, NCS4 is the only sports security training organization of its kind in the United States and remains the recognized leader in addressing potential threats and risks to the safety and security of sporting events. Through research, education and innovative solutions, the center continues to enhance the level of preparedness at sporting venues worldwide.

“The fact that had enough interest to include us in the article brings tremendous recognition to the work we’re doing here at the center,” said Marciani.
