Golden Eagles Hotline with head football coach Larry Fedora
: 7-8 p.m.
WHERE: Alumni House Sports Grill in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora will talk about the Golden Eagles’ win   over Central Florida and Saturday’s upcoming home game against Virginia. He will answer questions from fans at the Alumni House as well as those who call in to the radio broadcast on WXRR-FM (104.5).

Southern Roots Symposium presented by the Center for Black Studies
: 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Polymer Science Auditorium, Room 101
EVENT: Roundtable discussion about the life of Hattiesburg native Clyde Kennard, who was denied admission to the University of Southern Mississippi and later honored with a campus building named for him. For information call 601-266-4804

Honors College Forum presents renowned poet Jimmy Santiago Baca

Reception for American Masters of Gulf Coast art exhibit

EVENT: Exhibit curator Patti Carr Black will sign catalogs and discuss work by four pioneers of Southern modernism – George Ohr, Dusti Bonge, Walter Anderson and Richmonde Barthe. For information call 601-266-4972.


Head football coach Larry Fedora speaks at Eagle Club luncheon

WHERE: Thad Cochran Center Ballroom, third floor
EVENT: Fans and media are invited to attend weekly Eagle Club luncheon featuring head football coach Larry Fedora, who will discuss the team’s upcoming opponent. For information call 601-266-5299.

Pep rally kicks off another football weekend on campus
: 7-10 p.m.
WHERE: Fountain in front of Aubrey Keith Lucas Administration Building
EVENT: “Friday Night at the Fountain” pep rally. Games, soft drinks and Chris Weaver Band will perform live. For information call 601-266-4403.


Golden Eagles host the University of Virginia in Conference USA game
2:30 p.m.
WHERE: M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
EVENT: Southern Miss plays its third consecutive home game to open the season, hosting the University of Virginia. Southern Miss is 2-0, while Virginia is 0-2. For information call 601-266-4503.
