Mississippi’s Marine Fisheries to Host Evening with Researchers |

Researchers from The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) and the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR) will present a public briefing on the status of coastal fisheries research at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Caylor Auditorium at GCRL. The program is free and open to anglers and the general public.
Topics will include Mississippi’s spotted seatrout monitoring and spawning habitat studies, tag and release program updates, satellite tracking of dusky and silky sharks, and the state’s artificial reef program.
Adults and young anglers are encouraged to attend. The program will feature an open forum discussion and include door prizes and refreshments.
