Southern Miss Fall Graduation Events on Hattiesburg, Gulf Coast Campuses PDF Print E-mail

The University of Southern Mississippi will hold graduation events Thursday and Friday on its Hattiesburg campus, in conjunction with its two main commencement exercises set for Friday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Reed Green Coliseum. Media are welcome for interview/photo/video opportunities.

Commencement speaker is Dr. Betty Siegel, distinguished chair of the Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics and Character and president emeritus at Kennesaw State University. Siegel and Southern Miss President Dr. Martha Saunders will be available for interviews at 2 p.m. at the Oak Tree Room on the second floor of the Payne Center, located next to Reed Green Coliseum prior to the second commencement exercise.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Thursday, Dec. 11
• 3 p.m. : ROTC officer commissioning
            Location: R.C. Cook University Union, Rooms A, B and C

• 6:30 p.m. : School of Nursing recognition ceremony
Location: Thad Cochran Center Ballroom, Hattiesburg campus

Friday, Dec. 12
• 10 a.m. : Commencement: Colleges of Arts Letters, Health and Libraries
 Location: Reed Green Coliseum

• 1 p.m. : Department of Medical Technology certificate ceremony
            Location: R.C. Cook University Union, Room B

• 3 p.m. : Commencement: Graduates of the colleges of Business, Education and Psychology, and Science and Technology
            Location: Reed Green Coliseum
