The following events are being held at various locations in Hattiesburg and present both interview and photo opportunities for the media. Golden Eagles Hotline with head football coach Larry Fedora
: 7-8 p.m.
WHERE: Alumni House Sports Grill in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora will talk about his team’s season-opening win over Alcorn State and Saturday’s upcoming home game against Central Florida. He will answer questions from fans at the Alumni House as well as those who call in to the radio broadcast on WXRR-FM (104.5).


Dress rehearsal for Arts Gala at Convention Center
: 7-8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Dress rehearsal for the University of Southern Mississippi’s 2009 Arts Gala. Theater and dance members will be available for interviews. For information call 601-266-4315.

Southern Miss College of Arts & Letters presents 2009 Gala
7 p.m.
WHERE: Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
EVENT: Annual Arts Gala. Moulin Rouge theme. Media members are asked to arrive a few minutes before actual start time so that proper arrangements can be made. For information call 601-266-4315

Ribbon-cutting ceremony for renovated Ogletree Alumni House
: 9:30 a.m.
WHERE: Ogletree Alumni House in The District, Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus
EVENT: Formerly the President’s home, the Ogletree Alumni House has been restored and expanded from 6,500 feet to almost 12,000 feet. For information contact the Alumni Association at 601-266-5013.

Pep rally kicks off another football weekend on campus
: 7-10 p.m.
WHERE: Fountain in front of Aubrey Keith Lucas Administration Building
EVENT: “Friday Night at the Fountain” pep rally. Games, soft drinks and R&B artist Bobby Valentino will perform live. For information call 601-266-4403.


Golden Eagles host Central Florida in Conference USA game
6 p.m.
WHERE: M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
EVENT: Southern Miss opens Conference USA play at home against the Central Florida Golden Knights. Both teams are 1-0 on the season. For information call 601-266-4503.
