It’s not too late for those who want to make an entry for The University of Southern Mississippi’s 2009 homecoming parade, set for this Saturday Oct. 24 at noon, with lineup beginning at 11 a.m. at the University Mall parking lot, located at 3818 Hardy Street.

Hattiesburg area and university community businesses and organizations are invited to take part with a decorated float or vehicle incorporating this year’s homecoming theme “Black and Gold Never Gets Old.” Area residents, alumni, and members of the campus community are invited to come and watch the popular parade roll east down Hardy Street to the main entrance of campus.

The Southern Miss 2009 homecoming court, Pride of Mississippi Marching Band and Dixie Darlings, along with the Southern Miss cheerleaders and high school marching bands are scheduled to participate in this year’s parade.

For more information about how to participate, contact the Southern Miss Dean of Students Office at 601.266.6028.
