Early Connections Children’s Center will host a grand opening, which will include a Christmas program by the students and a tour of the facility, from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14.
The center is located in the West Oaks Shopping Center, 5315 Old Highway 11, Suite 1 in Hattiesburg.
Early Connections is operated by the Lamar County School District and The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies, Mississippi’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service.
Early Connections is a model demonstration program that provides high-quality early education and care for young children so that they are prepared for school, enriches the community by providing support to families, conducts research that contributes to best practices for early education and intervention, provides a training site for university students and serves as a model for other school districts and early childhood programs.
The program serves children, both with and without special needs, ages 6 weeks to 5 years during the school day and children 6 weeks through second grade after school and during the summer session.
