WHAT: Students, faculty and staff to be honored at special college, department and organization ceremonies leading up to Southern Miss May 15 Centennial Commencement. Media welcome for interview/photo/media opportunities

DETAILS: Several colleges, schools, departments and organizations will hold special events to honor students, faculty and staff this week on the Hattiesburg campus as the university concludes the spring 2010 semester and prepares to hold its historic Centennial Commencement, set for Saturday, May 15 at 9 a.m. at M.M. Roberts Stadium. These events include the following:
Thursday May 13, 3 p.m. - Army/Air Force ROTC officer commissioning, Thad Cochran Center, second floor.
Thursday, May 13, 6 p.m. School of Nursing pinning ceremony at Mannoni Performing Arts Center for spring 2010 graduates
Friday May 14, 11 a.m. Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education (CISE) recognition ceremony for elementary education and special education double major graduates in the Speech and Hearing Building, room 140. Friday, May 14, 11 a.m. - English Language Institute certificate/awards ceremony, Baptist Student Union.
Friday, May 14, 6 p.m. - School of Social Work to honor spring 2010 graduates at the Thad Cochran Center.
Friday, May 14, 6 p.m. Honors College to recognize spring 2010 graduates and present awards for outstanding student, faculty and staff achievements at the Thad Cochran Center, third floor, grand ballroom.
