LONG BEACH, Miss. – The University of Southern Mississippi invites the community to a Cross Creek campus planning meeting from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The meeting will be held in the Advanced Education Center auditorium on the Southern Miss Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

The open forum meeting will begin with a presentation from the university’s planning consultants on the demographic information and preliminary data analysis. Following the presentation, the floor will be open for discussion from the public on academic input for the future site.

The Cross Creek site was selected by the Institutions of Higher Learning in April 2007 as the preferred location for an additional campus on the Gulf Coast. The site is located just north of I-10 approximately five miles from the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach and two miles from Hwy. 49.
