The following events are being held at various locations in Hattiesburg and present both interview and photo opportunities for the media. Student organization sponsoring panel discussion
: 5 p.m.
WHERE: Room 216 of the Thad Cochran Center
EVENT: Southern Miss Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization sponsoring “Business Creation Station” panel discussion. Local agencies will discuss services they provide to start-up businesses. For information call 601-266-4673


Golden Eagles host Loyola in men’s basketball
7 p.m.
WHERE: Reed Green Coliseum
EVENT: Southern Miss men’s basketball team takes on Loyola University of New Orleans. For information call 601-266-4503.


Bowling tournament fundraiser planned
: 5:30-9 p.m.
WHERE: Champion Bowling Lanes in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Delta Tau Fraternity c-sponsoring “Delta Bowling for Bow Wows” to purchase  dog houses for the Southern Pine Animal Shelter. For information call 601-266-5767.

Spanish Variety Show set at Powerhouse
: Noon-3 p.m.
WHERE: Powerhouse Restaurant courtyard
EVENT: As part of International Education Week, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures’ Spanish Program will host a variety of talent acts in Spanish. For information call 601-266-5767


Men will take a stroll in high heels
WHERE: Shoemaker Square next to Student Activities Hub
EVENT: Annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” in conjunction with International Men’s March to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Men will walk in high heels and carry messages of support for women. For information call 601-264-7078.

College of Health Scholar Series begins
: 2:30-4 p.m.
WHERE: Room 210 of Thad Cochran Center
EVENT: First of a six-part series co-sponsored by Hattiesburg Clinic. Guest speaker Thomas E. Dobbs, health officer with the Mississippi State Department of Health, will discuss pandemic influenza and the H1N1 virus. For information call 601-266-5253.

Concert Choir and University Singers to hold concert
: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Main Street United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Two university ensembles will present a diverse repertoire from all periods of history. For information call 601-266-6121.


Hall of Fame discussion and banquet set
9 a.m-1 p.m.
WHERE: Room 216 of Thad Cochran Center
EVENT: Induction ceremonies for the Southern Miss School of Mass Communication and Journalism. Panel discussion from 9-11 followed by luncheon. For information call 601-266-4196.

“Friday Night at the Fountain” resumes
7 p.m.
WHERE: Fountain in front of Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building
EVENT: Pre-game pep rally before Saturday’s home game will feature food, drinks and live entertainment. For information call 601-266-4403.


Golden Eagles host Tulsa Golden Hurricane
: 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: M.M. Roberts Stadium.
EVENT: Southern Miss hosts Tulsa in final home football game of the season. For information call 601-266-4503.
