Beginning Monday, May 17 and continuing through mid-August, several construction and paving projects will begin on the Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus that could impact campus traffic and temporarily close some roads, traffic lanes and parking lots.
These projects include:

Mississippi Department of Transportation road improvement on Service Drive from West 7th Street to McCarty Hall. This will include a new retaining wall, road and sidewalk improvements and work on the railroad truss ell to facilitate the Long Leaf Trace expansion to downtown Hattiesburg.

Pedestrian crosswalk construction on West Fourth Street at the Century Park residence complex.

Delivery of parking garage materials beginning Sunday, May 16 through Thursday, May 20. The delivery process will be conducting in the evenings to minimize impact on traffic.

Paving and minor construction at the following locations:

Parking lot south of Wilber Hall and east of the Human Performance and Recreation Building, and portions of the Freshman Quad

Parking lot behind Bolton Hall

Parking lot behind Vann Hall

Parking lot west of the George Hurst Building

Parking lot north of Joseph Green Hall

Golden Eagle Drive between Montague and Pearl Streets

Fraternity Drive

Portions of Eagle Walk between West 4th Street and M.M. Roberts Stadium.
