WHAT: Southern Miss students schedule day of service during homecoming week, including campus beautification projects in the university’s historic district and other areas.

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus and city of Hattiesburg

DETAILS: Sponsored by the Southern Miss Student Government Association, this day of service will include work on flower beds and other landscaping projects near the front of campus near the Aubrey Lucas Administration Building. Other work will include planting trees around the power substation next to the Thames Polymer Science Research Center; planting monkey grass in areas near the Payne Center; and pruning rose bushes in the rose gardens near the front of campus.
