The Office of University Communications at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast received seven awards in the senior division at the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) 2010 awards luncheon May 18.
The office includes Shelia White, director of marketing and public relations; Judy Isbell, director of web-based marketing; Charmaine Schmermund, public relations associate; and Francesca Linthicum, graphic designer and communication specialist.
In the Creative Partners category, Linthicum received first place for the Opening Doors Exhibit entry. She also received the second place award in the non-sports single piece artwork category for the Heart Walk T-shirt entry.
White, Isbell and Schmermund received the first place award for the Southern Miss Gulf Coast E-Newsletter entry in the Public Relations Innovation category.
In the public relations campaign category, the office received second place for the Jazz and Blues Festival entry. The office also received the third place award in the public relations campaign category for the Nurse Executive Conference entry.
Schmermund received second place in the Feature Story category for the Southern Miss Student Battles Cancer, Pursues Degree entry. She also received third place in the Photograph category for the Technology Learning Center Ribbon Cutting photo entry.
