WHAT: The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Library and the Katrina Research Center will host Kids’ Day at the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. WHERE: Southern Miss Gulf Coast Library at the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. WHEN: Monday, June 22, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. SPECIFICS: The children will participate in educational activities, visit the Katrina Research Center with Bay St. Louis artist Lori K. Gordon and finish the hurricane awareness day with lunch at the Friendship Oak. Kids’ Day is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided. The Gulf Coast Library and the Katrina Research Center are observing Hurricane Awareness Month by presenting the 2009 Hurricane Awareness Series each Monday in June.
