WHAT: A family-friendly competitive marching music event.
WHERE: The University of Southern Mississippi’s M. M. Roberts Stadium, College Drive and Eagle Walk, Hattiesburg, Miss.
WHEN: Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 7 p.m.
SPECIFICS: Young musicians and performers will showcase their talents as Drum Corps International (DCI), the non-profit event producer of the world’s most elite and exclusive marching music ensembles, comes to Hattiesburg Wednesday at The University of Southern Mississippi’s M. M. Roberts Stadium. The competition starts at 7 p.m.
Hosted by The Pride of Mississippi marching band at Southern Miss, more than 1,000 student musicians and performers from across the country will be featured as part of this entertaining and competitive event.
Eleven top tier drum corps units will perform, including: Bluecoats of Canton, Ohio; Holy Name Cadets of Allentown, Pa.; Blue Devils of Concord, Calif.; Phantom Regiment of Rockford, Ill.; Boston Crusaders of Boston, Mass.; Glassmen of Toledo, Ohio; Crossmen of San Antonio, Texas; The Academy of Tempe, Ariz.; Pioneer of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mandarins of Sacramento, Calif.; Cascades of Seattle, Wash.
