Forty members of the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute (SRPSI) received graduation certificates on Friday, March 12 during a ceremony held at Camp Shelby.
Sponsored by The University of Southern Mississippi, the institute is a multi-function public safety training academy for law enforcement personnel from across the state. The academy’s mission is to provide up-to-date professional training through a nine-week (400-hour) basic academy, as well as offer in-service or advance training across a broad spectrum of public safety areas.
Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm E. McMillin served as guest speaker for Friday’s event.
