Southern Miss Percussion Director Invites Adults and Students to Gulf Coast Percussion Club PDF Print E-mail

Dr. John Wooton, director of percussion studies at The University of Southern Mississippi, is starting the Gulf Coast Percussion Club for adults and middle and high school students. Jonathan Spangler, a graduate assistant in the Southern Miss School of Music, will conduct the program each week.

The groups are scheduled to meet each Saturday in the Gulfport High School band hall. Adults, who will play a variety of percussion instruments, will meet at the band hall from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Middle and high school students will play in a full percussion ensemble from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
