WHAT: The Sun Herald and the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast will present Dr. Martin E. Marty, professor, author, theologian and "Sightings" columnist to discuss "Fundamentalisms: Around the World, Down the Block and In Our Minds."
WHERE: Advanced Education Center auditorium at the Southern Miss Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach
WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
SPECIFICS: Marty, one of the leading theologians of the past quarter century, is the Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago Divinity School where he taught for 35 years. The author of more than 50 books, Marty is an ordained minister with 72 honorary doctorates and who has also a recipient of the National Humanities Medal.
