The Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale will perform two free concerts in celebration of the holiday season. The chorale, which features more than 80 singers from across the Gulf Coast, will perform K. Lee Scott’s Christmas Cantata along with brass accompaniment.

The first concert will be on Friday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Advanced Education Center auditorium of The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. The encore performance will be on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biloxi.

The chorale is under the direction of John Flanery and is in its 14th year at Southern Miss. The ensemble serves as a community outreach program for the university with weekly rehearsal meetings and performances of a variety of choral literature throughout the year.

The Southern Miss Gulf Park campus is located on Highway 90 in Long Beach three miles west of Highway 49. For more information on the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale holiday performances, please visit www.usm.edu/gc/civic_choral or call 228.865.4573 or 601.266.4092.
