The following events are being held at various locations in Hattiesburg and present both interview and photo opportunities for the media. Education historian to address University Forum 
WHEN: 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Auditorium of Joseph Greene Hall.
EVENT: Jonathan Zimmerman, professor of education and history at New York University, will present “Coloring the Past: The Little Red Schoolhouse and American Memory” at the University Forum lecture series. For information call 601-266-4533.

Media tour scheduled for Trent Lott Center
WHEN: 1 p.m.
WHERE: Trent Lott Center on campus
EVENT: Photo and interview opportunity for media during a tour of the new Trent Lott Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. Southern Miss President Martha Saunders and other dignitaries will be available for media interviews. For information call 601-266-4499.

Recreational Sports to Host Healthy Affair event
WHEN: 4-7 p.m.
WHERE: Payne Center
EVENT: Informational booths and guest speakers will be on hand for the event which is open to the campus community. For information call 601-266-5655.

THURSDAY, MARCH 4Centennial Celebration features production of “Ragtime”
WHEN: 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Mannoni Performing Arts Center
EVENT: In conjunction with the university’s yearlong Centennial Celebration, The Department of Theatre and Dance along with the School of Music have united for a unique stage production of “Ragtime, the Musical.” For information call 601-266-6823.

Dedication set for opening of new Trent Lott Center
WHEN: 5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Trent Lott Center on Championship Way
EVENT: Dedication ceremony featuring former U.S. Sen. Trent Lott, Southern Miss President Martha Saunders and other dignitaries for the official opening of the Trent Lott Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. For information call 601-266-4499.
Centennial Exhibit to open at Cook Library
WHEN: 3:30-5 p.m.
WHERE: Room 105-A in Cook Library
EVENT: A century’s worth of collectibles that tell the story of The University of Southern Mississippi’s first 100 years will be on display. For information call 601-266-4499.
2010 Spring Teacher Fair scheduled
WHEN: 9:30 a.m.-noon.
WHERE: Thad Cochran Center 3rd floor ballrooms
EVENT: Free event for all Southern Miss students and alumni. Approximately 30 school districts and organizations are scheduled to have information booths on display. For information call 601-266-4153.

Construction begins on Habitat for Humanity Home
WHEN: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days
WHERE: Celeste Place Subdivision in Hattiesburg
EVENT: Official construction gets underway on the Habitat for Humanity home for Southern Miss employee Melissa Carpenter. For information call 601-266-4403.
