Miela Ford Gallob, daughter of Tana Hoban, delivered a heart-warming presentation at the opening reception of Hoban's exhibit June 15 in The University of Southern Mississippi Museum of Art.

Gallob spoke on the life and work of Hoban, who was a well-known photographer and publisher of children's literature from the 1940s until her death in 2006. Gallob donated a vast collection of Hoban's children's literature, photography and advertising work to the de Grummond Childrenís Literature Collection at Southern Miss.

The Tana Hoban Exhibit: A Retrospective will be on display in the University Museum of Art until Aug. 25. For more information, contact the Museum of Art at 601.266.5200. For more information on the de Grummond Childrenís Literature Collection and Hobanís work, visit

Miela Ford Gallob stands next to books published by her mother, Tana Hoban, and a book she and her mother published together.
