Beach - The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf
Park campus announced two employees won awards at the Public Relations Association
of Mississippi's Awards Luncheon April 1 in Jackson. Shelia
White, director of Marketing and Public Relations at Southern Miss Gulf Coast;
and Judy Isbell, director of Web-based Marketing, together received two Certificates
of Achievement. The first in the special events and observances category for "Jackson
County MBA Announcement" and "A Presentation to New IHL Board Members"
in the specialty report, under $2,000 category. Isbell also
received a Certificate of Excellence in the print advertising, over $500 category
for the "Economist IDV Ad;" and Certificates of Achievement for interactive
CD-Rom, over $1,000 category for "International Development Ph.D. Program;"
and Web site, under $1,000 category for "International Development Ph.D.
Program Web Site." White received two PRisms, the organization's
top award, in the news story or series category for "SimMan Joins Southern
Miss Staff" and photography color category for "Culinary Arts Pumpkin
Carving." The "PRism" awards luncheon is an
annual event where members are recognized for their excellent work in the field
of public relations within the state. PRAM membership consists of approximately
400 public relations professionals from advertising and public relations agencies,
corporations, nonprofit organizations, government, education, industries and others.
