HATTIESBURG -- The Student Government Association at The University of Southern Mississippi began a new tradition in the fall of 2003 with The Golden Eagle Memorial Service, which was implemented to recognize student members of the university community who passed away during the semester.

The memorial service for this semester is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Danforth Chapel in the center of campus. Students to be recognized at the service include Jeffrey Thomas Barber of McComb; Benjamin A. Berry of Columbia; Shauna Elise Myrick of Lucedale; Craig Michael Robbins of Sumrall; and John Wayne Williams of Jessup, Ga.

The entire campus community is invited to attend. For more information, contact Michael Mitchell, assistant dean of students at Southern Miss, at (601) 266-6029.
