GEORGE BULLARD, FORMER PROFESSOR, ADMINISTRATOR
AT SOUTHERN MISS GULF COAST, DIES

HATTIESBURG - George Edwin Bullard, former administrator and professor at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast, died July 26 at Keesler Medical Center. He was 85.

Interment was July 30 at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Thomson Bullard; two daughters, Janet Bullard Lambert and Joanne Bullard O'Keefe; and three grandchildren.

A native of Meridian, Bullard began his tenure at Southern Miss Gulf Coast in 1970, serving as associate professor of business administration and later as assistant to the dean for academic coordination. He also served as professor at the university's Hattiesburg campus and previously taught at Mississippi State University.

Bullard was a veteran of the U.S. Army's air force, serving as bomber pilot during World War II. He received many decorations and awards for his military service, including the Bronze Star.

A graduate of the former Gulf Coast Military Academy, Bullard organized an alumni association for the academy in 1971.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
