HATTIESBURG -- The workshop "Building Teams for the Future of Patient Safety 2004" will be conducted in Harkins Hall at The University of Southern Mississippi from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24. The workshop, designed for registered nurses and physicians, serves both students and practicing professionals. The focus is on integrating state-of-the-art patient-safety knowledge into the participant's own facility through case studies and discussion groups. The University of Southern Mississippi is one of three locations in which the workshop will be conducted during March. The majority of the 50 seats have been reserved by nursing students, faculty and community nurses. The workshop is being offered by the University of Mississippi Medical Center, with funding provided by a grand from the Department of Health and Human Services.
