LONG BEACH, Miss. -- The University of Southern Mississippi will be part of history April 3.

For the first time in the franchise's history, the Mississippi Sea Wolves hockey team will bear a university's name on its chest. Each of the hockey players will be wearing jerseys bearing the Southern Miss name, as part of a Southern Miss Alumni Association fund-raiser.

"We are excited to be a part of Sea Wolves' history," said Linda Ishee, president of the Gulf Coast Metro Chapter of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. "Come celebrate Southern Miss and help us soar to greater heights."

The game, which is being dubbed "Southern Miss Night," starts at 7:35 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. To sit in the "Southern Miss Zone," (Sections 23-25, End Zone with 400 limited seats) fans and supporters can purchase tickets for $10 each, of which $2 will go to the Southern Miss Alumni Scholarship Fund.

All of the jerseys worn by the Sea Wolves players will be auctioned following the game, as part of the fund-raiser.

For more information and to order tickets, contact Ishee at (228) 865-0587 or, or contact Brad Smith in Group Sales at (228) 275-WOLF(9653) or
