University of Southern Mississippi's Small Business Development
Center will host three workshops next month.
a Web page for Your Small Business," will be offered from 9
a.m.-noon, April 17, at the Southern Miss Small Business Development
Center Computer Resource Center on the Gulf Park campus in Long
Beach. This hands-on computer workshop will cover how to create
a Web page for small business using Dream Weaver software. The early
bird fee is $89 (payment must be received by April 12) and the regular
fee is $99 after April 12.
Pro for Beginners," will be offered from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.,
April 21 and 28, at the Southern Miss Small Business Development
Center Computer Resource Center. This hands-on computer workshop
is for beginners interested in learning the basics of QuickBooks.
Topics to be covered include QuickBooks tools, financial statements,
saving data, and invoices, among other topics. The early bird fee
for this workshop is $175 (payment must be received by April 14)
and the regular fee is $185 after April 14.
Your Own Boss," will be offered from 5:45-8:15 p.m., April
22, at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce at 720 Krebs Avenue
in Pascagoula. General small business startup information will be
covered, such as licensing, zoning, business planning and financing.
A representative from the Internal Revenue Service will cover forms
of business ownership and tax forms, among other topics. The fee
is $15 in advance for Jackson County Chamber members, $20 in advance
for all others and $25 at the door for anyone who has not prepaid.

If you prepay
for a workshop and are not able to attend, your workshop
fee will be refunded in full. For a refund, contact the Small Business
Development Center at least three working days prior to the workshop.
